Patricia Falcone, Lawrence Livermore’s deputy director for science and technology, received an AI Honors in Public Science Award at the June 2025 AI Honors Gala in Washington, D.C. The AI Honors Gala convened more than 300 influential leaders from government, industry, and academia to recognize the transformational impact of AI. Organizers cited Falcone’s extraordinary leadership in driving research to advance science and technology at one of America’s most vital research institutions.
A team led by Livermore nuclear engineer Charles Yeamans received the 2024 Nuclear Fusion Award for their outstanding publication in the journal. The Nuclear Fusion Award is given annually to recognize outstanding work published in the journal from two years before the award year. The paper describes extremely-high-fusion neutron-fluence experiments at the National Ignition Facility.
